2018 Mazda6 Driver Assistance Safety Features
Mazda has always been ahead of the game when it comes to introducing new technology into their vehicles—particularly when it comes to safety. Over the past few years, there have been some revolutionary new features that have found their way into Mazda vehicles, and that have helped to bring safety to a whole new level. It’s a large part of the reason that the Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9 all managed to earn the highest-possible IIHS Top Safety Pick award.
Though all of the Mazda offerings offer an impressive level of safety, today we’re focusing specifically on the Mazda6 and the long list of features that the midsize sedan has to offer. We thought we would start by taking a look at the driver assistance features that can be loaded the Mazda6. Brace yourself.

Mazda6 Traffic Sign Recognition System
While most automakers have a handful of driver assistance features available, the Mazda6 stands out with as many as 10 available systems that can be equipped in the sedan. Many of these have become quite well known in the industry, but one of the newest and most exciting features is the Traffic Sign Recognition System which has the ability to read signs on the road and alert you if you are going over the speed limit, or if there is a stop, or do not enter sign ahead. It helps keep you informed on the road.
Mazda Driver Assistance Safety Feature Availability
It is important to keep in mind that not all of the above features are available in every trim of the Mazda6. A few of the more advanced features are exclusive to the higher-end trims. Take for example the aforementioned Traffic Sign Recognition System, which can only be equipped in the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trims. To get the full list of which features are available in each of the five available trims, we encourage you to get in touch with us here at Matt Castrucci Mazda in Dayton, Ohio.
