How much can the 2019 Mazda CX-5 tow?

First, you need to have the right trailer hitch attached to the rear of the vehicle. Also, to achieve a maximum trailer weight of 2,000 lbs., you will need more torque than the base engine produces. The Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring trim levels all come with a SKYACTIV®-G inline four-cylinder engine that produces 186 pound-foot of torque. To achieve the maximum towing capacity, you would be wise to opt for the new turbocharged engine which puts out 310 pound-foot of torque.

When you combine the sweet elegance of the Mazda CX-5 with 250 horsepower, you get something truly special.
