February 2020 Outdoor Events and Activities in Yellow Springs, OH
The Glen Helen Ecology Institute is hosting a wide variety of February 2020 outdoor events and activities in Yellow Springs, OH. Featuring over a thousand acres of preserved natural area, the Glen Helen strives to educate the community about local ecology, wildlife and natural science. Below, we’ve highlighted a few activities for your consideration.
Full Moon Hike
For $5, community members can experience a guided, three-mile hike through the Pine Forest and School Forest. The hike takes place on Friday, February 7th, will start at 7 PM and end at 8:30 PM.
Trailside Thursday: Snow Day
Children age 4-8 along with an accompanying adult will be able to enjoy an educational day in the snow on Thursday, February 6th from 10 AM to noon. This event features hot chocolate and a scavenger hunt.
Bird Tracking Events & Activities in Yellow Springs, OH
Winter Birds Search
Community members will be able to explore the northern part of the Glen and spot winter birds on February 8th from 9 AM to 11 AM. This activity is free for Glen members and costs $5 for non-members.
On February 8th and February 9th from 9 AM to noon, community members will be able to track birds visiting local feeders alongside fellow nature lovers. This event is free, but donations are appreciated.
All four of these events begin at the Trailside Museum welcome center, which is located at the Little Miami Scenic Trail in Yellow Springs, OH.
