Both the 2017 Mazda6 and the 2017 Mazda3 offer seating for up to five passengers, and trust us when we say the interior isn’t cramped in either vehicle. Even basketball players won’t complain of cramped legs while riding in the sedans, but which one would make long-legged passengers feel the most comfortable? Check out the chart below!

Mazda6
vs
Mazda3
42.2/38.7 inches
Legroom (front/rear)

14.8 cubic feet
Cargo Volume

As you can see in the chart above, the 2017 Mazda6 offers more interior space than the Mazda3 in every category. That being said, the 2017 Mazda3 does have a better EPA-estimated fuel economy rating than the 2017 Mazda6, which makes sense considering the Mazda6’s larger interior and exterior. When 2017 Mazda3 trims are equipped with an automatic transmission, the sedan has a fuel economy rating of 28/37/32 MPG city/highway/combined, while the 2017 Mazda6 has a fuel economy rating of 26/35/29 MPG city/highway/combined when equipped with an automatic transmission.
