Tips to Change the Mazda 3 Fuel Filter

  1. Find the Mazda 3 Fuel Filter. Near the rear bumper you will find the gas tank. Find the gas line that comes out of the tank and travels towards the front of the Mazda 3.Mazda 3 fuel filter

  2. Follow the gas line until you find a cylinder-shaped filter surrounded by a stone guard.

  3. Remove the stone guard and mounting bolts with a screwdriver and then gently pry the two plastic tabs off of each end of the fuel filter to remove the gas lines from the filter.

  4. Take your new Mazda 3 fuel filter out and attach the gas lines to the proper sides of the new fuel filter.

  5. Slide the new Mazda 3 fuel filter back into its mount and then tighten the mounting bolts with a screwdriver.

    Hie. I have a 2004 Mazda 3 and I recently changed the fuel pump due to a lack of accelerating power, it barely goes over 40km/hr, I was hoping you could help me with what other things could be the problem. I’m here rreading about the fuel filter, i suspect it may be whats blocked, i just hope a change will solve the problem.
