2018 Mazda CX-5 new features and specifications
The 2018 Mazda CX-5 is set to arrive at dealerships around the country this month, with all trim levels featuring new and exciting equipment. The 2018 CX-5’s standard 2.5-liter SKYACTIV®-G engine gets even better, adding cylinder-deactivation technology, which is designed to reduce internal friction and increase fuel efficiency. Additionally, all trims will now receive a standard leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shift knob, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. The top-of-the-line Grand Touring trim takes things a step further, adding a new 2-position driver’s seat with memory settings and a 6-way power adjustable passenger seat.
2018 Mazda CX-5 engine specifications
As we mentioned before, we’ve always been impressed with the CX-5’s standard engine, and this year is no different. All trims come equipped with a 2.5-liter SKYACTIV®-G four-cylinder engine with a maximum output of 187 horsepower and 186. The engine is paired with the SKYACTIV®-DRIVE 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, but Mazda’s predictive i-ACTIV AWD® is available for all trims as well.
