Mazda has built a reputation for being one of the most efficient automakers today. There really isn’t an inefficient model in the lineup, but of course, some are better on gas than others. The Mazda3 is likely going to be your best bet if your number one concern is saving on gas. When equipped with a SKYACTIV®-MT six-speed manual transmission, the Mazda3 averages up to 38 highway mpg and 28 city mpg. As far as the Mazda lineup goes, you will find similar numbers, but none will be higher than those of the Mazda3.
