The base model of the 2019 Mazda6 offers better performance ratings than the 2019 Ford Fusion’s base model. The 2019 Mazda6 Sport outputs 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, courtesy of its standard, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The 2019 Ford Fusion is also powered by a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine, but only produces 173 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque.
The 2019 Mazda6 is also more efficient than the 2019 Fusion. Drivers who compare the combined (55% city, 45% highway) EPA fuel economy ratings of each sedan will notice that the 2019 Mazda6 received a rating of 29 mpg combined, while the 2019 Fusion was rated for 25 mpg combined.
